We cannot say thank you enough for your unending love, prayer, and support! We love reading your letters, hearing your encouragements, and seeing your interest in the Lord’s ministry way out here; you make the distance between us seem insignificant! It has been such a joy to serve the Lord here together with you all! May started out slowly but ended with a bang. For the first three weeks of the month, we were in complete lockdown. We did some online meetings, held church services and Sunday School online, and stayed busy with behind-the-scenes work. As the vaccines are becoming more widespread, the country is once again opening. We held our first in-person services last Sunday in what seemed like forever!
It also happened to be the Sunday that we celebrate church birthdays, and it was International Children’s Day weekend! Our children’s pastor had a great idea: We made gift bags for every child in our church; then made enough extras for almost every child to get an extra one for a friend or family member. We stuffed these bags with all kinds of goodies including Bible verse bracelets, a child’s wordless book tract, and an adult Gospel tract! The children sent us pictures of themselves giving their bag of goodies and the Good News to their friends! We are excited at these opportunities to share the Gospel!
All church renovations have been mostly completed; there are still some touch-ups and improvements to do, but that will always be the case. The campground development has commenced, and the first holes for the fence have been dug! Thank you to all those who have been involved in the Bethel Baptist Camp project; we look forward to keeping you updated on the progress! Another new book has been printed from Faith Baptist Publishing, and several more have been translated and are being edited.
Since the lockdowns have been lessening, we have held men’s meetings, teen activities, ladies’ movie night, and more. We are enjoying meeting with our church family again. Many have had a hard time being involved recently because of the fallout from the vaccines. As soon as our folks get the vaccines, they become very sick. Fearing the worst, they often check themselves and their families into the hospital; once there, they stay as long as they are permitted to in an effort to protect others and to take advantage of the free medicines and vitamins offered. Please continue to pray that the fear and political ridiculousness is soon lifted so we can resume our part in the ministry of the Gospel in full force. Amid all that, Vacation Bible School and teen camp/conference take place in a few weeks! Please pray for wisdom and that God saves souls and changes lives nevertheless!
Serving the Lord together with you on the other side of the world,
